Hi, I’m Charlotte
A photographer and mama in Christchurch, New Zealand.
I am driven and inspired by creating cohesive photography for soul-filled independent brands whose philosophies are rooted in intentional, sustainable design and living and are committed to creating with purpose. And equally, to capturing a love-filled bond between mamas and children - moments fleeting and unaffected, filled with movement, joy and whimsy, to tell stories and create memories.
I am also sell nature prints - simple, poetic photographs of our earth printed on matte photographic paper, archival giclee paper and as greeting cards.
As a photographer I want to use my eye and passion as a way to shed light on issues, bring about change and inspire, to advocate for the wellbeing of the earth and its people.
I have a passion for creating soulful photographs rich in storytelling, beauty, connection and meaning for both small, independent, sustainable brands and families - this is how I see the world!
After I graduated with a degree in photography I backpacked around Europe and Asia and worked in television and independent documentaries which opened my eyes and heart to the world. But really it’s been my children who have awoken an undeniable drive and passion inside of me and I deeply want to cultivate positive change in the world through my photography.
I’m particularly drawn to the space around conscious consumerism, slow living and ethical, environmental and personal sustainability. It is my passion and skill to translate the philosophy and vision of a brand and create story-rich photographs that truly represent the individual ethos and aesthetic.
I love working in a collaborative way to build a genuine narrative, create cohesive and curated story-rich imagery to reflect your brand’s philosophy and speak to your niche audience, inviting them to further invest in your brand. I’m interested in portraying the feeling of your ethos, the way you create your work with intention, integrate your history, your journey in creating your brand.
Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working with heart centred, independent small brands (from yoga and mindfulness teachers to ceramicists, to organic tea blenders and award winning restaurants and cafes) and many, many beautiful, incredible mamas and their children.
It is such a privilege to capture the connection between a woman and her baby, between nature and a toddler experiencing a new world: long swaying grass tickling little legs, rubbing soft, furry, ripe apricot skin against a sun-kissed cheek on a mid-summer’s day, meandering along a path, little hand in hand.
I’m driven and inspired by the simplicity and authenticity of gathering upon a rug, beneath the shade of a tree, sharing a simple baguette and cheese and a cup of coffee. Then wandering together along little paths, exploring and just being, as I capture your togetherness in a natural way. I’m inspired by fleeting moments: wind blown hair across a freckled face, soft toddler hands holding on tightly to the nape of your neck, a dress catching the summer’s breeze.
On my blog you’ll also find interviews with incredible mamas who I have had the privilege of photographing. My vision is for this blog to grow into a place for ‘stories for change’, using the power of visual storytelling for peace, harmony, awareness in our world. I deeply believe that a wholly more conscious, sustainable, ethical and just world is possible in our lifetime.
